Android Developer Needed for Mobile App Backend

About the role

NexGen Media is expanding its mobile product suite and needs a part‑time Android Developer to enhance existing features and build new user‑focused modules. You will work closely with product and design teams to deliver high‑quality code on a fast‑moving schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Implement UI screens and integrate RESTful APIs using Kotlin and Java
• Maintain and refactor legacy Android codebases
• Write unit and UI tests to ensure stability
• Collaborate via agile ceremonies and code reviews
• Optimize app performance and memory usage

Must-have skills

• 2+ years of Android development experience
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack components, and MVVM architecture
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Compose UI
• Knowledge of Firebase services
• Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow
