About the role

Cascade Apps is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need a REST API Developer to redesign core services for zero‑downtime deployments while preserving existing contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new RESTful endpoints using NodeJS and PostgreSQL
• Migrate legacy code to a micro‑service architecture with blue‑green releases
• Write automated tests and CI pipelines to guarantee no service interruption
• Collaborate with QA, Ops, and product teams to align on performance and security goals
• Document API contracts and versioning strategy for downstream consumers

Must-have skills

• 5+ years building high‑throughput REST APIs
• Deep expertise in NodeJS, JavaScript (ES6+), and PostgreSQL
• Experience with zero‑downtime deployment patterns (canary, blue‑green)
• Strong debugging and performance‑tuning abilities

Nice to have

• Kubernetes or Docker container orchestration
• Familiarity with API gateway solutions (e.g., Kong, Apigee)
• Background in legacy system refactoring
