About the role

AlphaEdge Tech is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need a Database Administrator to design, tune, and migrate data stores while guaranteeing zero‑downtime during the transition.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current schema and performance bottlenecks across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL.
• Plan and execute phased migrations with live replication and cut‑over strategies.
• Implement automated backup, monitoring, and alerting pipelines.
• Collaborate with devops and application teams to align data models with new micro‑services architecture.
• Document migration procedures and post‑migration validation tests.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in production.
• Deep experience with zero‑downtime migration techniques.
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) for automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning abilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerized databases (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with cloud‑native data services (AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos DB).
