About the role

Ridgeline Software is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a Database Administrator to tighten data defenses, audit configurations, and ensure compliance across multiple environments.

Key responsibilities

• Review and remediate security settings for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL instances.
• Implement encryption at rest and in transit, manage key rotation.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and apply patches promptly.
• Design and enforce role‑based access controls and audit logging.
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience securing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL databases.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IAM policies.
• Knowledge of encryption standards, TLS, and secret management.
• Ability to write clear documentation and incident reports.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or cloud security specialty.
• Experience with automated compliance tools (e.g., ScoutSuite, Prisma Cloud).
• Familiarity with containerized database deployments.
