Key Responsibilities
- Translate a variety of documents, including marketing materials, website content, technical documents, and software localization projects, from Spanish to English and vice versa.
- Edit and proofread translated content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and cultural relevance.
- Collaborate with project managers, linguists, and subject matter experts to ensure that translations meet the required standards of quality and cultural sensitivity.
- Conduct research to stay up-to-date with industry trends, terminology, and best practices in translation.
- Use computer-assisted translation tools and software to facilitate the translation process and improve efficiency.
- Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality translations within the required timeframe.
- Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure that translations meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the translation process and the quality of translations.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to identify and resolve any issues related to translation quality.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies when handling sensitive information.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and tools in the translation industry and apply this knowledge to improve the translation process.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Native Spanish speaker with excellent English language skills (written and verbal).
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in translation, preferably in a professional setting.
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in computer-assisted translation tools and software, such as MemoQ, Trados, or Wordfast.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
