About the role

BlueSky Ventures is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a REST API Developer to design, audit, and reinforce API endpoints against emerging threats while maintaining high performance.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing REST services and identify security gaps
• Implement authentication, authorization, and rate‑limiting controls
• Refactor code to use secure coding patterns and input validation
• Integrate logging and monitoring for threat detection
• Collaborate with DevOps to align API hardening with cloud security policies

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building and securing REST APIs
• Proficiency in NodeJS and JavaScript
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization
• Understanding of OWASP API Security Top 10

Nice to have

• Familiarity with JWT, OAuth2, and API gateways
• Experience with automated security testing tools
• Background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
