Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain large-scale database architectures using PostgreSQL
• Collaborate with development teams to develop and implement database solutions that meet business requirements
• Ensure the optimal performance, security, and reliability of database systems
• Develop and implement database backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high levels of uptime and availability
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless database operations and maintenance
• Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, entity-relationship diagrams, and database design documents
• Provide expert guidance and support to development and operations teams on database-related issues
• Develop and implement database security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in database administration and apply this knowledge to continuously improve database systems and processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data governance policies and procedures
• Develop and maintain databases to support business intelligence and data analytics initiatives
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for data security and privacy
• Develop and implement data archiving and purging procedures to ensure data retention and compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on PostgreSQL
• Strong technical skills in PostgreSQL, including database design, development, and maintenance
• Experience with database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization
• Knowledge of database security measures, including access control, authentication, and encryption
• Experience with database backup and recovery procedures, including snapshots, backups, and restores
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Experience with data governance, including data quality, data security, and data compliance
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for data security and privacy
• Experience with data analytics and business intelligence initiatives, including data visualization and reporting
